Shameless Plug

Some of my work has been included in 2 new books... the first is called "Collaborative Art Journals & Shared Visions In Mixed Media" by the ever so talented LK Ludwig.

For those of you who followed our Project Eight group, (Stephanie Lee, Albie Smith, Diane Havnen Smith, Laurie Mika, Catherine Witherall, Judy Wise, Katie Kendrik & myself) much of that work  is included. Unfortunately, our names weren't listed along with our work, so if you want to take a look, see pages 110, 128-133.  The photographs are wonderful & it's a great book with lots of wonderful images & projects.
The next is called "1000 Artist Journal Pages", it's not so new, but I just found it, it's been so long since I submitted, I forgot all about it.

New Classes

So happy to announce that I will be teaching at An Artful Journey this summer hosted by the ever-so-talented Cindy O'Leary.

It will be held at the Presentation Center up in the Santa Cruz mountains, which I hear is just to die for, the pictures are just amazing & I can't wait to re-visit my old stomping grounds!
The dates are August 28, 29 & 30th & I will be teaching an extended 2 day version of the Funky Found Object Canvas Village class along with the Vintage Metal Deck.
Both classes are filling up fast, so be sure to sign up early here.

How To Patina A Bra

Would love to find out if anyone ever googled "how to patina a bra"!

I wasn't sure that this would work, the bra really needed to be a certain color for this guitar piece that I'm working on, but paint just wasn't working.  So I decided to try patina & it worked beautifully.
FYI- you patina a bra the exact same way that you would patina anything else!

Beginning of new work

Well I've been scolded for not posting much lately & I'm really sick of looking at those pictures of the pier anywway, so here is what I've been working on.

It won't look anything like this when I'm done, just the beginning of assembling pieces to see if they fit.
The guitar piece is for me, haven't done a piece of art just for me in ages & it's time- the pink piece (which won't stay pink) is for Christine who commissioned me to make this for her to celebrate her new life.

The Pier

The best view in all of VA
I have no idea why Linda's hand was on my breast, but I sure look like I was enjoying it!

Can't believe that I never even remembered to pull out my camera until the last day, what was I thinking?  Usually I come home with hundreds of photos.

This is it- all I've got from this trip, must have been having too much fun!

Art & Soul Virginia

I was so anxious to get home & now I'm missing it, the ocean, the air, the amazing people are so good for my soul.
