500th post, giveaway, & unveiling of new gallery blog

Wow, I can't believe that it's been over a month since I last posted! So much has happened, I feel like I've been through a tornado, overwhelmed, happy, sad, scared, just trying to find my center again.

Well first things first, this is my 500th post, & I am taking this opportunity to give away the piece that you see above & to announce the official grand opening of my brand new gallery blog, Thingmaker Studio. It's actually been up for a few months & it's been quite successful, considering that I haven't told anyone about it! It feels so good to finally have all of my work in one place, for now I will hang on to my Etsy & 1000 markets shop, but eventually I will just have the blog. SO, the rules are simple, just go here & leave a comment. The comment that touches me the most wins. I'm sure that there is a more professional way to do this, but I want for this to be more from the heart, since this entire year has been all about heart openings.

I feel like I've been all over the place in the past few months & haven't been able to wrap my head around any of it. First there was Art Unraveled, where it was so nice to connect with old & new friends. I came home & jumped, the landing was better than I ever could have imagined, but since then I feel like I have bounced several times & the subsequent landings haven't been so cushy! Now, I'm not quite sure where the heck I am, I guess mostly I feel like I'm still in the air, waiting to see where I will land this time. If I jumped out of this airplane window, would I land on one of those cushy puffy clouds, or would I fall right through & splatter all over the earth?

Okay, enough about jumping out of planes & splattering! 2 Weeks after Art Unraveled, I went to CA to teach a day journey class for an Artful Journey. What an amazing group of women, it literally took my breath away to see the incredible work that came out of this class!
Before heading up to Cindys I had the chance to spend 4 days with my dear friend Kris- we had so much fun, & it was so nice to be able to spend some real time with her.
Here we are at a wonderful restaurant in San Fran with Catherine, Shosh & Gray (Mike is behind the camera)- I love this picture, even though it is grainy & funky.
I have so much more to share, but I'm trying to stay off of the computer for awhile & focus on preparing for Art & Soul Portland, which is only about 2 weeks away. I can't wait to be there, for so many reasons! After Art & Soul, I have one more big show in November, the Santa Fe Recycled show, & then I will be done for the year.....phew, it's been an intense one!

Just so happens I am the first to comment on your 500th post - and to say 'Congratulations'. You sound like one busy lady and rather than jump out of aeroplanes and go splat, I'd rather think of you gently floating back down to earth on a parachute; through those fluffy clouds and safely back to earth. hi Leighanna. First time I am visiting your blog and I am so fortunate to be able to congratulate you on your 500th post. That is so exciting. And I absolutely ♥ your blog. I am listening to your playlist on my headphones and would love to just stay here and listen for a better part of the day. Alas I, like you, have so much to do. And I know where you are coming from about the excitement and yet the need to also look to a time of rejuvenation. The photo which you so like from the restaurant in San Fran really touches me as well. I feel the comfort radiating from those faces.

Thank you Leighanna for your beautiful art, your wonderful kind soul which you share with us at places like Art and Soul. So wishing I lived closer by to be able to attend some of your workshops. Instead I will take moments of time to snatch glimpses of your world through your lovely slide shows and the music you have chosen for our enjoyment.

May angels be with you as you tread through the journey you have chosen.

How wonderful to hear from you again! Your talk of jumping sounds so intriguing -- I'm left to imagine wonderful, fun reasons to jump, and I imagine you are very brave. I'll be in Portland as well. Perhaps we'll run into each other at lunch.

Your new blog gallery is wonderful. I especially love your mask series. Your imagination is unending.

Sometimes we just have to take a chance in life - I hope your jump ended in softly billowing clouds of angel feathers!
